Silicon Valley Kids" – new cooperation partner of famPLUS GmbH

famPLUS has a new cooperation partner. From now on, the 550,000 employees of famPLUS customers can also take advantage of the Silicon Valley Kids' offerings. Telefónica will be the first to start in mid-November. As part of its virtual Kids' Days, Telefónica, in collaboration with the Silicon Valley Kids, offers a child-friendly "Online Escape Room," the workshop "Magic Show & Tricks Learning," as well as the "Quiz & Knowledge Party." However, the range of offerings from Silicon Valley Kids goes far beyond these three. We inquired further.

Silicon Valley Kids

famPLUS: What else do the Silicon Valley Kids offer?

Silicon Valley Kids: The children who would like to take advantage of our offerings can look forward to exciting science workshops, as well as creative and STEM courses, within the framework of the Children's University. Our program is particularly popular. Programming for Kids These courses and workshops are regularly fully booked. Our virtual children's birthday parties and special events for Easter, Christmas, and others are also very popular. We also support elementary school students with targeted tutoring and homework assistance, either in one-on-one online lessons or online group courses.

famPLUS: For which age group is the offer suitable?

Silicon Valley Kids: The course and care offerings are designed for children between 4 and 12 years old. For the little ones, we have early childhood education, language support, and preparatory preschool courses in our repertoire. However, age is not a limiting indicator for us. We have also accompanied 3-year-old early birds in their first steps in reading, writing, and arithmetic. Our focus is on the fact that every child is different. Pressing them into a rigid learning concept often does not do justice to their individual abilities, talents, and learning speeds, and hampers their free development. Our goal is therefore to promote the kids free from conventions and to awaken a genuine hands-on mentality in them. Our experience shows that children can usually do much more than adults give them credit for.

famPLUS: How long are the individual courses?

Silicon Valley Kids: Most courses have a duration of 90 minutes. However, for younger children, especially in our early childhood education programs, we start with 45 minutes. After all, we don't want to overstrain the stamina and concentration of our youngest ones.

famPLUS: Do the courses take place exclusively online?

Silicon Valley Kids The majority of our course and childcare offerings take place online. However, for some companies, we also provide on-site corporate childcare. Depending on how the COVID-19 situation develops, we will increasingly offer in-person courses in the future.

famPLUS: Who is the online offering interesting for?

Silicon Valley Kids: Our online offering is interesting for all curious and inquisitive children. In particular, STEM courses, such as in the areas of programming, electronics, robotics, and natural sciences, are very often not accessible locally or "around the corner." At Silicon Valley Kids, children can participate in these workshops from anywhere—after school, on weekends, or during holidays. This flexibility makes planning easier for parents. Another bonus: travel times are eliminated.

famPLUS: What sets Silicon Valley Kids apart from other providers?

Silicon Valley Kids: As parents of young children, we noticed that early encouragement develops and hones our children's talents and interests. The playful approach has always been particularly important to us. Having fun and learning at the same time – almost incidentally. That’s exactly what happens when you work on captivating projects with children. Mathematical and scientific knowledge then becomes less abstract and is conveyed without "conscious" application. We quickly realized that educational institutions only cover this spectrum inadequately. Moreover, there was and still is no provider with the range of courses and learning opportunities we desired. We wanted to offer variety and diversity "under one roof." We started with the concept three years ago and have been live and TÜV-certified since April 2020.

famPLUS: Are there special offers for companies?

Silicon Valley Kids: With increasing demand, we have also developed customized course and care offerings for businesses. Medium-sized companies, as well as corporations, offer their employees company childcare through Silicon Valley Kids, which is unparalleled elsewhere. Our corporate clients include Tesla, Telefónica, and Continental, among others. Everything is still online, but companies already have the option to book quotas for in-person courses.

famPLUS: How can the offer be booked?

Silicon Valley Kids: Booking can be done directly on our website via our Booking system  take place. A single course can be booked for a specific date or a discounted package of, for example, 10 lessons. These can then be used like a credit by participating in courses.
